We coated 1,000 square feet of a Los Angeles warehouse in light gray 100% solids epoxy while the unit was being fitted out. The whole job, from grinding the bare concrete to the second coat, took two days.

The unit was being fitted out, and the section of floor the client wanted coated was bare concrete, worn and stained. Epoxy only holds as well as the surface underneath it, so the slab had to be opened up and made sound before any coating went down.
We ground the concrete to give the epoxy a clean, open surface to bond to, then filled the cracks and divots so the finish would sit on a solid, even base. Two coats of light gray 100% solids epoxy followed, laid across 1,000 square feet over two days and finished to a clean edge against the rest of the floor.

The finished floor is one continuous light gray surface with a high-gloss finish. The pale color throws back the daylight from the storefront glazing and the overhead lights, which brightens the whole space, and with no joints or bare concrete to trap dust it is quick to sweep and mop.
Because 100% solids epoxy contains no solvent, the thickness we put down is the thickness that cures, giving a dense, hard-wearing coat for foot traffic and rolling carts.
